Hey ya’ll,
It has become obvious to me that I need to take a break from blogging for a few weeks and allow the Lord to minister to me and fight for me. I have a very busy few weeks ahead of me and Satan is doing what Satan does best—he is seeking to discourage me as I walk out the calling that the Lord has placed on my life. So, Jesus and I are going to drop back and re-group a bit in order to combat that evil serpent.
This is Satan’s typical MO when I have a speaking opportunity or other ministry event. He whispers in my ear,
“Who do you think you are? Did God really call you into ministry or was it just your desire for attention?”
“No one is interested in what you have to say at a ladies event.”
“What in the world were you thinking when you wrote a Bible study. No one will give it a second glance when they can do studies by REAL authors like Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Kay Arthur and so many others.”
Yes, I hear these and so many others in the days leading up to any event or ministry opportunity. I’ve learned to call out to Jesus and let Him deal with Satan. But, this time is different; it is more intense and I think it is because there are several ‘big’ things coming up.
- On Tuesday, September 21st, I am speaking to a group of ladies in Toccoa, Ga. I will be doing the legacy message and am so honored to be serving this group.
- September 23 – 27 will find me in Black Mountain, NC at the first gIRL gathering. I am the prayer team coordinator and will be staffing the prayer room for the event. BTW, there is still room for you if you would like to attend. We would so love to have you ‘jump the screen’ and come be with us at gIRL!! Click on the link above to learn more.
- I am anticipating that From the Trash Pile to the Treasure Chest: Creating a Godly Legacy Bible study (from Crossbooks Publishers)will be available around October 1st. While I am super excited about the publishing of the study, I am also beginning to be nervous about it. Will it be a blessing to anyone? I pray so.
In light of this, I feel that it is wise for me to take some time and simply abide with Christ; to be still before Him and allow Him to love on me and fight for me. So, for at least the next two weeks, and perhaps more, I will not be blogging, except for Challenge 2010 posts.
If the Lord brings me to your mind, I would be most grateful for any prayers you might offer up to Him on my behalf. I promise, you will not waste a prayer on me during these days. Thank you so much for your love and support. I’ll be back here at The Point blog soon.
