Can you believe it? It is Thanksgiving week!!! Where in the world has the year 2012 gone?

This week I will be taking time away from the blog to be with family and celebrate Thanksgiving. However, before I go, I wanted to tell  you about an upcoming event and remind you of my January blog series.

First, if you live in the north Georgia/western North Carolina/eastern Tennessee area, I would like to invite you to join me on Thursday evening, December 6th for Christmas Praise and Coffee. This fun event for women and girls will be held at First Baptist Church, Blairsville in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 6:30pm. It will be a time of dessert, coffee, fellowship, Christmas music and a devotion.

Would you like to come, host a table and bring your friends? Table hostesses only need to provide a dessert for the ladies at their table and decorations for their table. Hostesses can invite their friends to fill their table or ladies can be assigned to your table. Either way, this event is so much fun and a great time to meet new friends. Because of the creativity of ladies, the tables at this event are always so beautiful. So, if you enjoy decorating and entertaining, come host a table and show off your decorating talents.  Not interested in hostessing? Come and enjoy the evening. For more information or to sign up, please email me at [email protected].

Please don’t forget about my upcoming January series entitled What I Needed to Say..

I am so excited about this series. Here is information about it and how you can be part of it.

Have you ever wished you could voice the true feelings about a situation in your life, but just could not for any one of a million reasons? Have you ever thought, “Gee, I would like to tell my story, but do it anonymously….so no one would know it was me?

Would you be willing to write an anonymous letter voicing those feelings that were never expressed or the rest of the story that never got told?

I want to invite you to be part of a series on my blog that I am calling ‘What I Needed to Say…’.

I would love the opportunity to post your ANONYMOUS letter sharing the story of a situation in your life where you needed to say more than you did… tell more of the story than what others knew. I desire for this to be a healing exercise, not an opportunity to feed anger or bitterness toward another person or people.

Your letter can start out with Dear Anonymous.., Dear Teacher.., Dear Pastor.., Dear Molester.., Dear Parent.., Dear Church Family…..,Dear whatever is appropriate for your situation…. NO NAMES SHOULD BE USED. NO NAMES WILL BE PUBLISHED.

Some examples of letters might be:

Dear Mom, I know you meant well when you told me I was ugly, but you have no idea what that did to my heart…..

Dear Pastor, you were supposed to be someone I could trust. What you did to me was unthinkable…..

Dear Church Member, as a pastor’s wife, I am amazed at how you expect my husband to be on call and available 24 hours a day…..

Dear Coach, you told me I was fat and that I could not be on the team because of it. I took you seriously and began dieting. I dieted and dieted and dieted…..

In the body of the letter explain what happened to you and how it affected you. Your letter may be up to 600 words long. It should include how the Lord helped you move on or get through this situation and what you learned from it. Each letter should end with encouragement. The apostle Paul told us that we comfort others with the comfort we, ourselves, have received. Allow the writing of this letter to bring healing and encouragement to you and to those who read it.

Please sign your letter “Sincerely, Anonymous”. Your name will not be used, nor will I post anything that might identify you to my readers. Only I will know who the writer of the letter is, which makes the assumption that you trust me with your identity. I hope I have earned that trust over the years.

I will allow comments from readers on each post on the blog, but if you choose to respond to any of the comments on your specific letter, I ask you to do so anonymously.

I am planning to run this series beginning in January 2013, therefore I would love to have your letter soon so I can edit it for grammar, punctuation and content and then schedule it to publish in January. Please send your letter to me at pointministries at gmail dot com.

I pray you have a blessed Thanksgiving!
