Blessings

It has been a while since I have done a Friday Blessings post…not because I have not been blessed, I am incredibly blessed. I just have not felt led to do one for a few weeks. Today, however, I want to share a few blessings with you.

{#321} – Falling snow – In north Georgia this week we experienced a beautiful snow. It was the kind where the wind was still and snow lined the branches of trees, outlining everything in pure white. The snow fell for hours and we ended up with 2-3 inches on the ground. I’m trying to remain positive about the winter weather. I LOVE cold weather. I do not love the snow and ice.

{#322} – Greg – Greg is such a blessing to me. He is my stabilizing influence. Until this week, I had never shared with him how anxiety-filled I become over snow and ice predictions. If I have to go to work, or be somewhere on the day they call for winter weather, my anxiety level exceeds the dosage of my medication. So, several times over the course of this week, Greg has put his arms around me and reminded me that there is nothing I can do about the weather (really, you mean God doesn’t need my help in the weather department?), and I need to calm down. God knew what I needed when he sent Greg to me.

{#323} – New sisters in Christ – see this post from my New Mexico trip

{#324} – Prayer – When I really ponder the opportunity of prayer and the possibilities of prayer, I am nearly face-to-the-floor. To be able to BOLDLY approach the God of the universe with my needs, and the needs of others, is stunning. That He would care; that He would listen and hear; that He would move on behalf of our prayers. Amazing!

{#326} – Text message – When I was stranded in New Mexico a couple of weekends ago, I was a tad nervous staying at the hotel in Lubbock, and riding to the airport in a taxi at 5 am. What a blessing it was to get a text message from Charlie at 4:30am checking to see if I was ok! He was on an all-night ride from a ski-trip in Colorado, and calling to see how I was. Blessed my heart!

{#327} – Trees – I love the picture below of trees in the different seasons. In the summer a tree is full of leaves and at it’s finest. Come fall, there is spectacular beauty in the magnificent colored leaves. Winter’s reduction shows forth what the tree is made of. In spring, new life begins to burst forth, reminding me that there is always the promise of new life after the hard blast of winter.

{#328} – Chocolate covered almonds with amaretto

{#329} – Letter from my Compassion daughter, Ruth

{#330} – Supporting Bree by attending her basketball games – We love to go to the games!

{#331} – Coffee – I so enjoy my morning cup of coffee in the quiet of the house, before the day gets started.

{#332} – Long-tailed shirts – Although I am short (5’5”), I am long-waisted and have trouble finding shirts that are long enough to cover my belly and the top of my pants. Voila! Duluth Trading Company has long-tailed shirts. No one wants to see a 49-year-old belly!! I ordered a couple and they are the BOMB!! Yay!!

{#333} – Anticipation of canning season – I am already dreaming about strawberry jam, apple butter, squash pickles, salsa, okra, squash, and so much more. Mmmm!
