Today at The Loft we are all about BOOKS. It is our topic for the week and, other than Jesus, BOOKS are one of my favorite things to talk about. So, I thought it would be fun to do a book meme for those of us who LOVE to read. It’s a great way to find new reading material! Enjoy and tell me your answers to the meme in the comments.

One book you’re currently reading: Actually, I am kind of between books, but not really. I just finished Jennifer Lee’s The Happiness Dare (yes, do get it) and I am soon to begin Sophie Hudson’s Giddy Up, Eunice. I suppose it counts that I am reading an advance copy of Kris Camealy’s upcoming Advent book, Come, Lord Jesus: The Weight of Waiting

One book that changed your life: Tired of Trying to Measure Up by Jeff van Vonderen (Probably saved my life from complete destruction via an eating disorder.)

One book you’d want on a deserted island: Bible

One book you’ve read more than once: Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell and Trusting God’s Heart by Frank Cox

One book you’ve never been able to finish: Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan and god is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens

One book that made you laugh: Bless Your Heart, Tramp by Celia Rivenbark and My Southern Journey by Rick Bragg

One book that made you cry: Safely Home by Randy Alcorn and My Southern Journey by Rick Bragg

Books

One book that was a waste of time in your opinion: Don’t recall the name but it was by football star Deion Sanders

One book you keep rereading: Any church cookbook. You always find new recipes in them. The Bible

One book you’ve been meaning to read: Captivating by Stasi Eldredge ~ Downloaded it onto my nOOK recently, so I’ll get to it.

One book you believe everyone should read: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas

Finally, grab the nearest book. Open it to page 56. Find the fifth sentence and share it here: If you’ve ever been part of what might be classified as a dysfunctional small group, you know what a relief it is to realize that the phrase ‘Bible study’ doesn’t have to be synonymous with ‘gossip and gripe session’. ~~ Sophie Hudson in Giddy Up, Eunice.

Okay, let’s link! You will find the linky for your post on BOOKS at the bottom of my post. Happy linking, y’all.

THE

We are a topic driven link-up, which means that we link posts that pertain to the topic of the week. Posts that are not on topic will be deleted.

We will offer a month’s worth of topics each week so you can plan and prepare for a post that helps you enter into the conversation. Here are the topics for the next month:

August 24 ~ Books

August 31 ~ Pot Luck

September 7 ~ Labor/Work

September 14 ~ Beauty

Just a reminder that the link-up goes live on Wednesday morning at 5am and will stay live until the following Monday at 5pm. If you link up at The Loft, please do not link-and-run. We want to create conversation and community, therefore, we ask that if you linkup one post, please visit two others. There are some beautiful people who link-up each week, and visiting their posts is the best way to get to know them.

Now, it is time to get to today’s link-up. Our prompt today is BOOKS. You will find the linky at the bottom of my post. Enjoy the fellowship at The Loft.
