Getting to Know You…..3.23.12

Welcome to Getting to Know You…our new Friday fun. Getting to Know You is a post where I ask an ‘icebreaker’ type of question and you answer it. This gives all of us a chance to get to know one another a bit better. I share my answer with you so you can get to know me a bit better as well.

Today’s question is a ‘geography’ based question, yet it still pertains to you, personally. Here it is

Share with us all the cities, in no particular order, in which you have lived over the course of your life.

Ok, here are the cities where I have lived up to the present:

  • Blairsville, Georgia
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Doraville, Georgia
  • Snellville, Georgia (where everybody’s somebody)
  • Lawrenceville, Georgia
  • San Mateo, California (oh, yes, there is a story behind this one)
  • Norcross, Georgia
  • Dacula, Georgia

Now, it is your turn. Who knows, maybe we were neighbors at some point!!!

Which town doesn’t have a story behind it?

    • http://www.leahadams.org/ Leah Adams

You are so right…all our towns have stories attached to them. Maybe I’ll do a Getting to Know You and ask about the stories attached to these towns. You have lived in a lot of states. How cool! Thanks for stopping by.

All are in Georgia unless otherwise stated:  Washington, Demorest, Pendergrass, Hephzibah, Comer, Canton, Blairsville twice, Rome, Toccoa (all of those were before age 20), Roswell, Smyrna, Flowery Branch, Marietta, Olathe, KS.

    • http://www.leahadams.org/ Leah Adams

Wow, Cindy, I had no idea you had lived so many places. How cool!! Thanks for stopping by.

      • cindy oldham

Yup, we moved a lot in my early years.  Maybe for next week’s question you should ask folks if they had a favorite of all of the places they lived or a unique story to go with how they got there.  My Kansas move was the most God directed (well actually he just about yelled at me) to go and he took care all of my “but…..”  It was  a great experience there, I could have stayed longer but chose to come back here.  I did get some folks hooked on sweet tea while there though! :o)

Looks like some have moved because of being in the service, being a missionary, or being in the ministry. Teehee. That would be fun to find out.

Maybe I’ll do a Getting To Know You and ask about the stories behind the towns. Great idea, Karen.

    • http://www.leahadams.org/ Leah Adams

Marita, I’m with you. Not a big fan of moving either. The advantage, however, is that you usually do a really good cleaning out and throwing away….better known as a purging….of a bunch of stuff you really don’t need.
