Each week I choose a different Psalm to read and meditate on as part of my personal Bible study time. This week it is Psalm 100. As I read it this morning the Holy Spirit gave me some fresh insight that I thought I would share. He made me very aware of the attributes of God that are detailed in this Psalm and I believe that in the days in which we are living, we need to know, really know these in our hearts. I hope this blesses you the way it blessed me.

Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! – Here is the name Jehovah, reminding us that He is sovereign and nothing happens without His permission.

Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. – He is worthy of our service and our praise. He invites us to come before Him and we are welcome in His presence. Most of us will never meet a President or King of our country, but we can meet with and talk to the King of all Kings any time we desire.

Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. – He is the Sovereign Creator of the Universe and He desired to create us. We are His and He loves us – warts and all. He is our Shepherd who keeps us safe and cares for us. He is not a far off God, but rather One Who is continually with us.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. – His name is I AM. We should never cease to give Him thanks. He is deserving of our gratitude, if for no other reason than because He gave His Son for us. Most, if not all of us are unspeakably blessed, yet so often we forget to say a simple ‘thank you’.

For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. – He is good. He is merciful. He is truth. He never changes. He always was, He always is and He always will be good, merciful and truth.
