Hey ya’ll. This is an incredibly busy weekend but I wanted to hop on and give you some pictures from earlier in the week.

First, though, I have to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to all of you who prayed for me and left precious comments on my last post. Your comments were such encouragement to me!!! I am doing SO MUCH better. I emailed the Bible study manuscript off to the publisher last week!!! Yea!! The fog of depression began to lift last week as well. I know that I know that I know that your prayers and those of so many others made such a huge difference. I could feel the fog lifting as you began offering up your prayers. Thank you!!

On Thursday, Greg and I, along with Greg’s parents, went to Trussville, Alabama (a suburb of Birmingham) for Charlie’s graduation from Hewitt-Trussville High School. Charlie was 2 1/2 when Greg and I got married and he has grown into a very godly young man. The four of us, along with Charlie’s mom and her parents, watched proudly as he accepted his diploma. It is hard to believe he is 18 years old and getting ready to go to college in the fall at Oral Roberts University.

Here are a few pics from our time with Charlie:

Upon our arrival in Trussville, the first order of the day was lunch at Jim ‘n Nicks BBQ. Can I just say the Pecan Pie was heavenly!!!!!!

Once we finished lunch we headed to our hotel. Here is a picture of three generations of Adams men. Charlie (Charles Dunn Adams), Greg (Charles Gregory Adams) and Greg’s dad, Charles (Charles Robert Adams). Side note: Charles is a family name in case you had not noticed.

Graduation was Thursday evening. H-T High graduated 280+ seniors in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Blew my mind!! We went to the graduation of our nephew here in Blairsville the week before and it took them 2 1/4 very cold hours to graduate 140 people. Needless to say we were grateful for the timeliness of Charlie’s graduation ceremony. One of the young ladies who spoke at the ceremony offered her speech in honor of her mother who died from cancer during this girl’s senior year of high school. It was a very touching moment with more than a few tears. The young men and women who spoke at Charlie’s graduation impressed me greatly with their speaking abilities. They were poised and polished and very at ease. Future speakers definitely coming out of Trussville High!!
Here is Charlie walking in with the rest of his class.

I did not get a good picture of him actually receiving his diploma but got this awesome shot of Charlie doing the Vanna White thing and showing off his diploma to one of the faculty members. Charlie and his dad can be quite the hams and so this move did not surprise me in the least.

It was mass chaos after the graduation and I only was able to get one close up picture of Charlie in his graduation attire. Here is Greg, Charlie, Greg’s mom, Betty Adams, and Charles.

On Friday morning before we left Trussville to come home, we met Charlie at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. This young man loves his dad and it was obvious because he was out of bed and at breakfast by 7am on a day when he had nothing else to do.

Thanks for sharing our special day and for being such awesome blog friends. I’ll be back on Tuesday for our 11th verse in Challenge 2010. See you then.
