If you have been hanging around The Point for more than a few weeks, you will perhaps recall that last fall and early into this strange winter, I walked through and talked about what I called a ‘season of silence’. Not silence on my part….to the chagrin of my precious husband. Silence is not high on my bucket list. I only got a spanking in grade school one time. It was for talking in class. Didn’t slow me down much!!

No, it was not me that was silent. It was God…or so it seemed. I equated His silence with inactivity on His part. What a major mistake that was!! Just because it feels to us that God is inactive, un-interested, or un-involved, does not mean that He is. In fact, I am learning that those times of apparent silence from Him are when He just may be cranking up to do something so monumental that it will blow my mind.

And so it is in my life right now. The past two or three weeks have offered me one ‘God sighting’ after another. All of them have been exciting. A couple of them have put me face to the floor in awe and worship. None of them can be explained any other way than ‘it’s just a God-thang’.

Isaiah 43:19 NLT
For I am about to do a brand-new thing.
See, I have already begun!
Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness
for my people to come home.
I will create rivers for them in the desert!

What I did not understand in my season of silence was that God was ‘about to do a brand new thing’ in my ministry! In fact, He had already begun it. It just was not time for the big ‘reveal’. Still isn’t. I’m seeing little glimpses of it, but He is still unfolding it. For that reason, I live expectantly…eagerly waiting to see the next thing He will do.

One day He will free me to share the specifics of this with you. For now, let me encourage you to live expectantly. Your world may be silent, with no word from God. You may have more questions than you have answers about what God is doing. His ways may seem to make no sense.

Trust His heart.
Don’t give up on Him. He is moving….working….even in the silence. Especially in the silence, He is about to do a brand new thing, my sister.
