Recently I had the opportunity to sit in Wednesday night youth group at my church and listen…and pray…and respond. No, I’m not normally in the youth room, but on that evening, I had been asked to be present. The leader for that evening, Doug Smith, planned to give the kids an opportunity to ask questions about God and he wanted some adults to be available to help answer the questions the kids would pose.
To say I was blown away by what I heard would be the understatement of the year. The questions these kids asked were real and raw and hard!! We spent a lot of time on questions about suicide. Whew!! These kids were not afraid to just lay it out there and the adults responded in awesome ways.
Today I want to provide that same type forum for your questions. Not that I will be able to answer all of them, but I’ll try and if I don’t know the answer I’ll do my best to find someone who does. In fact, Doug has offered to jump in and help. Thanks, Doug. Just because we are no longer pimply faced teens doesn’t mean we don’t have questions. I got questions…you got questions…we all got questions.
So, here are the rules:
  1. Ask your question by finishing this statement: I have a question about God and it is……………….

  • There are NO stupid questions, so ask away.
  • Please ANSWER ANONYMOUSLY. In order to do this, once you read this post, scroll to the end of the post and click on “_____Points from friends”. A box will open and you will be able to type in your question. Once you have typed your question, please type in the word verification letters, then scroll down and click “Anonymous”. Then click on “publish your comment”.
  • Your question will NOT appear immediately. I must moderate all the comments to make sure they are appropriate–you know, no bad language or stuff like that. It may take several hours for your comment to show up, so don’t give up. However, if your question/comment doesn’t show up by the next day, please re-post it.
  • If you have a response to another person’s question please be respectful and kind. Remember, I will be moderating comments and disrespectful and unkind comments will be deleted.

We will answer the questions in a separate post or posts. I/We want questions from Christians, but we also, really, really want those who may not be believers to feel comfortable asking their questions. We, Christians, can be pretty clique-ish sometimes and we forget that not everyone understand the lingo we use and the things we believe. So, the floor…or the screen..is open. Ask away!!
