Woman 2 Woman Mentoring. It is something that we all need, but far too few of us have in our lives. A godly, spiritually older woman who is willing to come alongside of a spiritually younger woman, to stand in the gap for her, to be her friend in good times and bad. That is the definition of a Christian mentor….that, and so much more.
Sunday, I had the honor of hosting in my home the first Orientation Coffee for FBC Blairsville’s Woman 2 Woman Mentoring Program. The leadership team for this ministry had labored in prayer over this day for many months. The vision was clear, the call was definite, program was set and oh my goodness, Holy Spirit showed up in amazing ways.
We had 20 precious ladies, of all ages and stages of life, come and express an interest in being matched with another Christian lady for the purpose of entering into a mentoring relationship.
I was blown away by the transparency of these precious ladies. The older women were beautiful to behold as they shared about their lives and the faithfulness of God. The younger women were passionate in their pleas for leaders and role models who are transparent and authentic. It was such a Spirit anointed and Spirit filled day.

If you have never participated in a mentoring program, I would highly recommend it. I learned so much from my mentor, Sherry, when I participated in the test group that we took through the program last fall. She helped me in a myriad of ways and I am so thankful for her.
