Over the weekend Greg and I, along with Greg’s sister, Angie and her husband, Steve, had the pleasure of hosting a party to celebrate the 80th birthday of my father-in-law, Charles and my mother-in-law, Betty. What a sweet time we had! No girl in the world ever had in-laws better than these two. I am exceedingly blessed to be part of their family. They love me and treat me like I was their own daughter and I love them bunches.
Betty turned 80 in April and Charles will turn 80 in September. Both are retired teachers, having taught in our county, as well as the county adjacent to us. Betty taught elementary school during her career, while Charles taught chemistry and physics at the high school and college level. Charles and Betty are very active in the Georgia Retired Educators Association at the county and state level.
Many of their friends, former students and colleagues turned out to with them a happy 80th birthday. I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from the day with you. If you are receiving this via email and cannot see the pictures, please click on the title of the post (Celebrating 80!) at the top of the email and you will be taken to my website where you can see the pictures.
For whatever reason, a few of the pictures in this gallery are cropped. If you click on the individual picture, you can open it up and see the entire picture. Weird!
- Two of my favorite women: my mother-in-law, Betty, and my mother, Barbara! I’m blessed!
- Father and Son, Charlie and Greg.
- Siblings….Angie and Greg.
- Here are Charles and Betty with our son, Charlie and his girlfriend, Sarah. Sarah was a lifesaver…she arranged all the decorations and saved the flower arrangement when I inadvertently froze it in a too-cold refrigerator.
- This is the Adams family minus Kalem, Angie and Steve’s son. He had to work and could not be at the party. We missed you, Kalem.
- Charles’s cake was decorated in a chemistry theme.
