I’m headed out of town for the first part of the weekend. I will be speaking at a ladies retreat at beautiful Callaway Gardens tomorrow. I would appreciate your prayers covering the event. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends and THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever noticed how sometimes it seems like life is more tumultuous than at other times?  My life has its own share of turmoil but the lives of many of my friends and acquaintances seem to be full of tumult and trial right now as well. It seems as if the whole world is in a tailspin and no one is at the wheel trying to stop the spin.
One day as I drove to work I was listening to Dr. Adrian Rogers’ message entitled The Politics of the Pilgrim.  It was a fantastic message but he said two things that absolutely spoke peace into my heart and I hope into yours.  In speaking of the world situation in general, he said,
“God is not in panic mode.  The Holy Trinity is not meeting in emergency session.”
 Intellectually, we know those two sentences are true, however, when our minds are in panic mode it is easy to forget that God never feels panic and the Father, Son and Holy Spirit NEVER get called into emergency session to deal with something that took them by surprise.
As I reflected on those sentences, the Spirit led me to several verses in the Psalms that reminded me of the sovereignty of our God.  I want to share them with you and I hope that you will take the time to read these slowly and let them speak peace into whatever your life situation is at this moment.
©     “Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.”    Psalm 62: 8
©     “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.”   Psalm 56: 3
©     “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”  Psalm 55: 22
©     “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”  Psalm 50: 1
©     “Be still and know that I am God.”  Psalm 46: 10
©     “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.  Selah.”  Psalm 46: 1-3
©     “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”  Psalm 37: 25
©     “I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, For You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, and have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place.”  Psalm 31: 7-8
 Sometimes I think we simply need to be reminded that God has not abandoned us and He is not a doddering, senile grandfatherly type.  We need to remember that He is in perfect control of all that happens and  NOTHING happens to us that He was not aware of before the foundations of the earth were set in place.  He NEVER abandons us!  Reach out for Him—He is right there!!
“God is too good to be unkind, He is too wise to be mistaken.  When you cannot trace His hand, you can always trust His heart.” – CH Spurgeon
