I want to thank each of you who took a moment to complete my 2015 blog/website survey. I am grateful for your time and input, and I learned from your thoughts. My heart is to offer in this space, 1) the words that Jesus want on the screen, and 2) words that will encourage, bless, and yes, even convict at times, the hearts of those who read. I know that if I accomplish #1, then #2 will follow, but it is nice to have input from those of you who read and visit with me.

Survey Results

So, today I thought I would share a few of the results with you.

The majority of you have been reading my blog for 5 years or less (81%). The biggest surprise to me from the survey was the age of my readers. Of those who completed the survey, 63% were over 55 years of age. Obviously this is not a scientific survey, so I’m not sure if the younger crowd simply doesn’t read/subscribe, or if they just didn’t take the time to complete the survey. Either way, I’m grateful for each reader!!

When I asked you what your favorite type of post is, the answers were pretty evenly distributed between all groups. The Scripture teaching posts had a very slight advantage, with The Loft and ‘other’ coming in last with an equal percentage.

The answers you gave to the next three questions were extremely instructive to me. When asked if there was a particular post that was especially helpful to you, here are some of the answers I received:

  • The last one I read. Seriously, so very often any given post will be just what I need to encourage and/or correct me that day.
  • Lessons you learned through your parents’ death. They all have been a blessing. Just what I needed at the time. Thank you.
  • No particular post, but I just like your open, refreshing attitude and your always correct grammar. (Okay, that one really made me smile. I try very hard to use correct grammar, and apparently my efforts are paying off!!)
  • The legacy series.

Your major concerns about our world today were pretty much what I expected: lack of morals in society, truth as relative, violence, absence of God in schools, and terrorism. There was a bit of a theme, though, in these responses. Several of you said that the lost-ness and hopelessness of people today is a major concern, as well as the lack of boldness among Christians today. Another concern that was voiced a few times was the fact that there is a lack of depth in the local church, as well as apathy toward sin. I think the two go hand-in-hand.

The final question was ‘what topics would you like to see addressed here at LeahAdams.org. Here are some of your responses:

  • The ones God puts on your heart and mind to share
  • The same stuff you have been sharing with us (this was repeated a few times in various forms)
  • How and what to pray
  • More transparent stories of God’s grace in the midst of your life struggles
  • Revelation

Finally, this last response is the one that has had me pondering.

  • Try to do something a little different than all the other Christian women blogs. I’m not sure exactly what that would be, but they’re all beginning to look and sound alike.

Hmmmm, I wish I could sit and talk with this person, and gain a bit more insight into this comment.

Your comments and responses have been instructive and encouraging to me. Thank you for responding. My promise to you, my reader, is that I will continue to seek the heart of Jesus for my writing, because I want to make a difference for Christ in our world today. I want my words to point hearts straight to Jesus and His marvelous grace. If you leave my website drawn a bit closer to Jesus, then I have accomplished my task with each post.

I welcome your constructive comments about my writing and website any time.

I will see you back here tomorrow for The Loft. We are sharing about our FAVORITE VACATION. I’m taking you to the Middle East for mine.
