This week at The Loft we are gathering around a Scripture prompt. We have offered you two scriptures from which to choose. You may link up a post, picture, or video that uses either Psalm 51:10 OR Galatians 5:1 as the focus. We hope you will join us.

Galatians 5:1

Freedom.

Mr. Webster defines the word in this way:

  • the quality or state of being free:
  • the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action
  • liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another
  • independence
  • the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous <freedom from care
  • easefacility <spoke the language with freedom
  • the quality of being frank, open, or outspoken <answered with freedom
  • improper familiarity
  • boldness of conception or execution
  • unrestricted use <gave him the freedom of their home

Put your highlighter on the 5th definition and let’s camp there for a bit.

‘the quality or state of being exempt or released usually from something onerous’

I don’t know about you, but I could spread that definition all over my life like spreading jelly on toast. Have I ever needed to be released from something onerous more than a few times in my life! Usually the onerous something is of my own doing, but that makes it no less onerous.

I’ve needed released from:

  • anorexia
  • pride…lots of pride
  • selfishness
  • hatred
  • self-centeredness
  • sexual sin
  • hurt

How’s that for a list?

The really good news is that Jesus never intended for us to be all bound up with that kind of mess.

Right here would be a good place for a hearty HALLELUJAH!!

Jesus died on the cross to set us free from the things that keep us all in a twist. He set us free from being controlled by the things on my list, and a thousand other things.

It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set you free…..Jesus died on the cross for YOU so that could be released from something onerous!!!

So, dear friend, are you living all bound up and twisted up by sin. Make a decision that today is the last day you will live that way. If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can walk in FREEDOM today! He has the power to help you make that a reality. All you have to do is ask Him.

Thanks for visiting with me today. You may link your post on either of these two Scriptures by using the linky tool at the bottom of my post.

We are a topic driven link-up, which means that we link posts that pertain to the topic of the week. Posts that are not on topic will be deleted. We will offer a month’s worth of topics each week so you can plan and prepare for a post that helps you enter into the conversation. Here are the topics for the next month:

April 13 ~ A Scripture Prompt ~ We are giving you two verses to choose from: one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament. Link up a post based on either verse. Psalm 51:10 OR Galatians 5:1

April 20 ~ Friendship

April 27 ~ Pot Luck

May 4 ~ The Funnies

Just a reminder that the link-up goes live on Wednesday morning at 5am and will stay live until the following Monday at 5pm. If you link up at The Loft, please do not link-and-run. We want to create conversation and community, therefore, we ask that if you linkup one post, please visit two others. There are some beautiful people who link-up each week, and visiting their posts is the best way to get to know them.

Now, it it time to get to today’s link-up. Our prompt today is SCRIPTURE PROMPT.

You will find the linky at the bottom of my post. Enjoy the fellowship at The Loft.
