If you have visited around here for any time at all, you know that the topic of ‘legacy’ is my thing. It is the topic of my Bible study and something that I feel passionately about. We are all leaving a legacy for the generations that come behind us. You have the choice of what your legacy will look like. In fact, your legacy is all about choices…choices about faith, character and holiness.

On September 5th, I will begin a series of Monday posts entitled Strollin’ Down Legacy Lane. In these posts I will share with you legacy building stories of real people. They may be from the Bible, from history, or from a walking-talking, very much alive person. Some of the stories will be positive legacy building stories, while others will be examples of what not to do in your legacy building efforts. Each of the stories will encourage you to think about your legacy and how you are building it AND will offer you something to meditate/ponder on for the week.

Our focal verse for this series will be 1 Timothy 4: 12b.

Be an example to all believers

in what you teach,

in the way you live,

in your love,

your faith,

and your purity.

This is where you come in. I would adore sharing with my readers some of your legacy building stories. What are you doing to create a godly legacy? How have you failed in your legacy building efforts and then seen God’s grace in that situation? Has God given you a do-over in your legacy building efforts? I want to hear your stories. No story is too boring or plain if Jesus is in the mix. So share them with us.

If you would like to share a story about how you are building a legacy for the generations that come behind, here are the guidelines:

  • Your story should be no more than 750 words
  • Email your story to me at [email protected]
  • If you have an electronic picture of yourself and/or your family please send it.  I will try to use it in the post.
  • By sending me your story, you give me permission to use it and to edit it as needed.
  • Please be sensitive to the use of names of other people in the story if that usage would hurt or harm them.
  • Understand that just because you send your story, does not necessarily mean I will be able to use it. I will take a look at your submission and respond back to you within 2 days.
  • If you have a website or a blog and would like for me to link to it in the post if I use your story, please send me the link address.
  • There is NO monetary compensation for the use of your story.

I am very excited about this series and hope that you will stop by on Mondays for a Stroll Down Legacy Lane.

Come on, send those stories to me!!!
