Can you believe it? Memorial Day Weekend! Where has the first half of 2012 gone? I can hardly believe that school is out and summer is approaching. Today for our Getting to Know You post, let talk about the reason for Memorial Day..the men and women who have fought and died for our freedom in the United States.

Share with us about a family member or friend who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedom.

I don’t have a family member who fought and died in a war. My husband, however, does. His cousin, Wayne Hudgens, died in the Vietnam war on May 18th, 1967. When Greg and I were in Washington, DC in the late 90’s, we went to the Vietnam Memorial and saw Wayne’s name engraved on the stone. Although I never knew him, I was deeply touched.

I want to thank all veterns and their families for what they do for our country. Your service allows me to live in freedom. Thank you and may God bless you!
