Last week I shared with you what I am doing over at the HeBrews: A Better Blend Bible Study Facebook page. On May 22nd I began 40 Days of HeBrews. Each day leading up to the July 1st launch of my new Bible study, I am posting snippets from the Bible study on the Facebook page. It could be quotes, Bible verses, or dessert recipes. (Yes, there are dessert recipes in the Bible study! You’re welcome.)

About once a week, I am going to post the snippets from the Facebook page right here at The Point, so those of you who are not on Facebook can get a taste of what is to come when the study launches July 1st. If you are on Facebook, and have not gone by the HeBrews: A Better Blend page and liked it yet, please do.

So, here are more of the HeBrews snippets I have posted. I hope it whets your appetite for more of HeBrews: A Better Blend.

  • 40 Days of HeBrews: Day 6 (this quote references the Bible) ~ “Why all this talk about an ancient, boring book, Leah? You talk about it like it was a person, and able to impact people’s lives.”

  • Today’s HeBrews snippet is a continuation from yesterday. I know this one to be totally true from personal experience.
40 Days of HeBrews: Day 7 ~ “As long as it [the Bible] lies unread on your shelf or nightstand, it has no power to change your life; however, when it is opened and read, power is unleashed that will produce a heart change in your life.”

  • 40 Days of HeBrews: Day 8 ~ “As we continue our study of the book of Hebrews, we find the author reminding his readers of the Old Testament priesthood and the improvements that Jesus, our High Priest, brought to the priestly office.”

  • 40 Days of HeBrews: Day 9 ~ “The fact that the Old Testament priest never sat in the Tabernacle tells us that his work was never finished. He had to keep coming back offering the same sacrifices over and over for the sins of the people. Contrast that with the BETTER priest {Jesus} who sat down at the right hand of God once His work was finished. That’s huge, people. HUGE!! A finished work. Finished. Completed. Never to be done again. One time for all.”

  • 40 Days of HeBrews: Day 10 ~ “I thought it would be fun to go with a coffee and dessert theme for the study since coffee and Bible study go together like peanut butter and jelly, biscuits and gravy, Romeo and Juliet, Democrats and Republicans. Well perhaps that last one was not a good analogy. You will find recipes for yummy desserts at the beginning of each chapter.”

  • 40 Days of HeBrews: Day 11 ~ Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV)

  • 40 Days of HeBrews: Day 12 ~ “The Old Testament priests were human with all the human limitations we might imagine. They sinned, they died, they grew old, they could only offer temporary sacrifices. The BETTER High Priest would be limited in none of these ways.”
